Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
Lincoln Memorial University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Phone 404.679.4500) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.
American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA COE)
The AVMA states that “when a student graduates from a veterinary school or college that is operating under any classification of AVMA COE accreditation, the student is considered a graduate of an accredited school for purposes of licensing examinations or other certification that requires graduation from an AVMA COE-accredited institution as a prerequisite”.
As a point of clarification, LMU students are not required to take qualifying examinations like those administered by the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG).
The LMU-CVM was granted Provisional Accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA COE) on October 29, 2014. Provisional Accreditation is the classification granted to an educational institution seeking initial accreditation. Under the standards of the AVMA’s Council on Education, LMU-CVM is able to seek full accreditation from the AVMA in 2018.
