Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine. Below you will find the application requirements for the LMU-CVM Class of 2020.

Prior to applying, we highly encourage all applicants to review the requirements to be considered for admission.

A complete application includes:

  • VMCAS Application
  • LMU-CVM Supplemental Application (link)
  • GRE Scores

Your application must be received in its entirety by September 15, 2015 at 12 midnight. Applications missing any of the above will not be considered for admissions.

 

VMCAS

LMU-CVM uses the Veterinary Medical College Application (VMCAS) to make the application process smooth for applicants. VMCAS is a centralized application service that processes and verifies application materials.

The VMCAS application opens on May 13, 2015. The deadline is September 15th at 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time. This means that your application must be completed in its entirety with all required documentation submitted to VMCAS by September 15th.

We highly encourage all applicants to apply early in the admissions cycle to avoid online transmission congestion. Applications not considered complete and verified by VMCAS will not be considered for admission.

 

LMU-CVM Supplemental Application

In addition to the VMCAS application, all applicants must complete and submit the LMU-CVM supplemental application. The deadline to submit the supplemental application is September 15, 2015 at 12 midnight EST.

 

Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

You must request that their official GRE scores be sent to LMU by Educational Testing Service (ETS). For applicants for the Class of 2020, GRE scores from exams taken prior to August 2012 will not be accepted.

To order you scores visit the GRE website: https://mygre.ets.org/greweb/login/login.jsp. Please have official GRE scores sent to Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine (Code 7576 Lincoln Memorial Univ Vet Med). Sending your scores to any other academic program will not guarantee receipt by the College of Veterinary Medicine.

 

Transcripts

As part of your VMCAS application, you must submit transcripts for all courses completed through Summer 2015 directly to VMCAS. Read more about the VMCAS transcript verification process here: http://aavmc.org/transcriptver.aspx.

Fall 2015 transcripts are due to LMU-CVM no later than January 31, 2016.

Winter/Spring 2016 transcripts are due no later than June 30, 2016.

In order to be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly from the college/university to LMU. Transcripts sent by applicants will not be accepted.

Letters of Recommendation

As part of your VMCAS application, you are required to submit electronic Letters of Recommendation (eLORs). LMU-CVM requires at least 3 letters of recommendation:

  • 1 letter from a college professor,
  • 1 letter from a veterinarian, and
  • 1 letter from a previous or current employer

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – if applicable

The TOEFL is required for all applicants who are not U.S. citizens and for whom English is a second Language. Applicants must receive a minimum score of 550 (paper-based); 213 (computer based); or 79 (internet based). For applicants for the Class of 2020, TOEFL scores from exams taken prior to August 2012 will not be accepted.

Official TOEFL Scores must be submitted to LMU-CVM by September 15, 2015. EXCEPTION: The TOEFL examination will be waived for students who have graduated with a baccalaureate of higher degree from a U.S. institution at the time of application.
